The micro-click adjustment is what you notice first — small, repeatable increments, so you can add pressure mid-fight without overshooting and pulling a hook. The ceramic line guide handles the heat of a fast run better than a metal one. The rotor is asymmetric, which shifts weight where it balances rather than where it is convenient, and the whole body is cut thin to keep it light on the rod.

Why we carry it

Most reels at this level get the spool right and the drag wrong. Carbon fibre discs and a micro-click adjuster are the specification you would look for on a reel costing considerably more, and the serviceable handle means it stays good rather than slowly getting worse.

Model Guide: The Windrunner III reel is available in five sizes: 2000, 2500, 3000, 4000, and 5000. The size determines the reel’s overall capacity and weight: 2000 (244 g), 2500 (245 g), 3000 (248 g), 4000 (267 g), and 5000 (268 g). All models feature a 5.2:1 gear ratio and 9+1 ball bearings. The 2000, 2500, and 3000 models have a maximum drag of 6 kg, while the 4000 and 5000 models have a maximum drag of 8 kg. Please select the size that best matches your target species, line setup, and fishing style.
